Parts base.com

All the bad blogs about partsbase.com seemed to have dried up, they must have figured out a way to get them off the net. Let's see how this one goes. My son went to work at partsbase.com in Boca Raton. He was promised 16 weeks of intensive training, just like the ad said. After the second day he was put out on the floor to start selling.

He was handed 100 leads that were called constantly over the last 5 years of which 70% were out of business. Then he had to find his own leads on the internet. His manager, that was supposed to help him when he did get someone that was interested, always seemed to be too busy.

They were paying him a decent salary, $ 750.00 a week, so it wasn't too bad. He soon realized the micro management that went on at this place. If you are one minute late coming in or coming back from lunch, go home for the day without pay. He was never late, made sure he was always early, but that didn't work either, was written up for working 40 hrs and 53 minutes. He was told by his manager this put him on shakey ground. Needless to, say he wasn't getting a warm fuzzy feeling.

He went in one morning, waited an hour because their system was down and then told to come back after lunch and was docked for the time. He was also told never to say hello to the CEO because he was very volatile and actually fired someone for wearing a pink shirt. The CEO walked arond in shorts, T shirt, and sneakers, but if your shirt wasn't tucked in properly, you were sent home without pay. Really leads by example.

Now the clincher, on the friday of his third week, at 4:00PM he was called into the office and handed an envelope. In it was his resume that I, had posted online, based on all of these stories, thought his future might be short there. They not only didn't give him his pay check that he was an hour away from getting, but was told the 3 weeks he worked would be converted to $ 7.21 an hour retroactive and since he was paid $ 750.00 the first week, they would deduct that from 120, 3 weeks, times $ 7.21 equaling $ 865.20, less $ 750.00, so he worked 2 weeks for $ 115.20. What a bunch of scumbags. There agreements says if you quit or are terminated before 4 weeks, that's what they do. Be really cautious about working their. Rent was due, food money, and he got nothing, not even the $115.00.

They knew exactly what they were doing, fired him for looking out for himself, and one hour before they gave him his check. They don't give a shit about anyone. Now I know why there employment ads are constant, huge turnover. Beware.
